Rooted in the enduring division of Cyprus, the Green Line Wall Lamp transforms political and emotional geography into material form. The green wire — an allusion to the line drawn across the island in 1963 — becomes an integral design element rather than something to conceal. It bisects the lamp’s surface into a 70% and 30% proportion, mirroring the physical and psychological separation that continues to define the island’s landscape.
Crafted from solid oak and veneer, the lamp reveals its material truth when illuminated — the wood grain emerging like a quiet memory. The section “cut” by the green wire remains unlit, embodying the stillness of the dead zone: a reminder of absence, yet also of resilience and the persistent light that surrounds it.
